What makes vacuum tires more durable and superior to previous tires?

When it comes to tires, no vehicle can function without them. As a means of transportation, they play an indispensable role. But have you noticed that nearly all bicycles, motorcycles, and other vehicles have an inner tube inside the tire? The primary function of these inner tubes is to store air, enabling the tire to propel the vehicle forward. The outer tire exists mainly to protect the inner tube. Today, cars no longer use inner tubes; they employ tubeless tires, which are more durable than the old inflatable inner tubes. Why is that?

These tires feature an exceptionally smooth outer surface. When filled with air, the pressure forces the tire to adhere tightly to the wheel rim. As mentioned earlier, this tire is smoother, so its rubber is also highly flexible, enabling the tire to operate with better resistance. To prevent air from diffusing through the tire walls, manufacturers also incorporate a specialized sealing layer on the tire's outer side, allowing air to escape only through dedicated vents.

When inflated, these vacuum tires increase surface tension while generating internal pressure. This enhances sealing integrity and self-sealing capability around the tire. Even if punctured by objects, the tire can maintain integrity for a period without immediately deflating like a bicycle tire.

Manufacturers state that tubeless tires offer significantly improved wear resistance and superior heat dissipation compared to traditional designs. Specifically, eliminating the inner tube layer enhances driving stability, substantially boosting safety for users.

Moreover, vacuum tires contribute to improved fuel efficiency. Many may wonder how tires can affect fuel economy. Vacuum tires deliver superior traction with reduced friction, resulting in greater driving stability and significantly less vibration during operation. This optimization also enhances vehicle speed, making the car feel more fuel-efficient to drive.
